Canon History

G1/IDW

(taken from Wiki)

With vast strength but questionable sanity, Galvatron's primary weapon is his particle accelerator cannon, mounted on his right arm, which can fire blasts of assorted types, including electrochemical energy and particle beams.  He transforms into a futuristic laser-cannon emplacement (similar to a Howitzer) and can, on rare occasions, assume the form of a laser pistol, shrinking as he does so to allow other beings to wield him (an ability never used in the animated series, although it was occasionally used in the UK comic series).

Galvatron's toy tech spec identified him as a city commander, much like the Autobot toy Ultra Mangus. The bio fails to indicate whether or not he is a recreated Megatron instead mentioning that he is both "determined to lead the Decepticons" and that he "plots against his allies".

Cracktran History

Galvatron started out as a part of Megatron's spark; the darker, more violent, blood thirsty part.  After getting K.O'd by the Allspark in Mission City, that half of Megs spark started to take on a life of its own.  Stress of constant attacks on himself, Prime, the other mechs, as well as the pressure to change himself for the better put Megatron at odds with himself.  This only helped Galvi to grow until he manifested a semi-sentience inside Megs.  The two personas warred over the single body then inhabited, with Galvatron wreaking havoc on everyone and everything in his path when he got the chance.  His mission was to destroy everything Megs had worked hard to achieve and eventually break the other and take control of the body for good.

He was almost successful.  Megatron put himself into a near death state with the help of Starscream.  There, Galvatron and Megatron dueled for control.  Megs lost, unable to accept his darker half and Galvatron broke free.  However, with Megs persona dying inside the Spark, Galvatron knew he had to find a way to expel him or die as well.  The Allspark was his answer, which he knew was on base and in Starscream's lab.  This kicked off Slagfest 2007.  Many were injured badly as Galvatron made his way through the base.  Starscream was killed, but thanks to his death (and a bit of power from the Allspark and Decepticon Matrix), Galvatron was torn from Megs spark and shoved into a protoform frame that happened to be lying around in Screamer's lab.

Weakened and angered, he had no choice but to flee the base.  Nemesis picked him up and high-tailed it out of there via porthole.  Now he lives with the virus turned mech and a dog named Killer.  He's gotten himself a modified alt form and is currently preparing to take Megatron out for good, then destroy the rest of the traitors living on earth.  After that, he plans to rule the universe, even if he's the only one left in it when he's finished.

Info

Here, Galvatron is modeled a bit after the G1 and IDW versions.  As a creation of the Allspark and Decepticon Matrix, he's stronger, faster, less apt to be injured by weapons, etc.  He's crazy as hell, hardly a rational thought in his head.  His alt form is a similar to Megatron's, instead of being a cannon as he was in the G1 series.

And despite public demand, there will be no Nemesis/Galvatron.  Galvi has no use for affection, love, touching, or any of that slag.  If it doesn't involve killing or tearing things apart, he's not interested.
