Bombshell arrived on Earth courtesy of the Nemesis, where he had established a personal nest near the ship's engine. For reasons of his own, Bombshell declined to emerge from his hidey-hole for some time, instead choosing to monitor the actions of others through the communication system without sticking his nose out. Since then, he's come out of his shell to join his Insecticon brethren and serve the Decepticon cause. His chosen means of doing so was to team up with Frenzy in the Nemesis medbay and offer his professional expertise to any seekers, "no questions asked." His services have somehow managed to be less than wildly popular, leaving him a great deal of time to work on projects of his own.

Nevertheless, he has some productive accomplishments on his record, having repaired Tracks to his original beauty and really squicked out Bonecrusher. For a period, Bombshell's personal life was becoming increasingly complicated, in between terrifying encounters with Megatron, good times hanging out with fellow Insecticon Kickback, and professional differences with the other medical staff. What started out as a nightmarish fear and loathing of Moonracer, who thought he was cute, took a radically different turn after Disneyland, where he asked her out on a date with the help of Kickback's encouragement and a certain amount of inebriation. Since then, the two have gotten much closer. Moonracer still thinks Bombshell's cute; Bombshell thinks Moonracer's delicious.

Unfortunately, while Bombshell may be intelligent, his higher judgment has recently proven lacking. His continuing experiments to develop and upgrade a new series of drone copies of himself got entirely out of hand. Though they were a marvelous success from a design standpoint, when the drones grew bigger and more powerful than their creator, they predictably revolted. Distracted and in an agitated state over incidents during the rise of Galvatron, Bombshell was unable to keep control of the weevil swarm, which promptly initiated a takeover plan for the Nemesis. Entirely coincidentally, Bombshell chose this time to take a vacation. He's unlikely to be treated well when he returns to base.

His vacation has still managed to be eventful, despite the inordinate amount of time spent lounging on tropical islands, eating local delicacies and local residents. Bombshell has set some sort of plan in motion involving Chip Chase, giving him information on Cybertronian anatomy in exchange for leaving the drone Bali to accompany him in disguise as a dog. Moonracer has also visited and kept him more than busy, and after a particular session of intimate spark-to-spark business, Bombshell employed a surgical procedure to splice a piece of her spark energy into his own and vice versa, binding the two together.
